BRIEF:
Young racing legend, Peter Lenz tragically lost his life in 2010 after crashing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and then being struck by another rider. I was glad to be able to help his dad Mike, keep Peter’s memory alive through the designs which will be used on T-shirt’s and cycling jerseys. Mike had been getting many requests from people who new Peter, for something they could have or wear to represent Peter.
SOLUTION:
After hearing Peter’s story, I decided to offer the lettering design pro-bono on the understanding that I would be given full creative control. Mike agreed and requested one piece of lettering with the wording “Peter Lenz - Forever 45”. With 100 ideas in my head just from the initial conversation, I decided to create a suite of lettering and badges that would give Mike a bucket load of application options. The lettering is inspired by traditional moto racing with a less corporate sponsor feeling.
