Meg Joannou Makeup

BRIEF:

Meg Joannou is a local Makeup Artist who got in touch for a logo design to go on business cards for a wedding show she had coming up. Meg wanted a logo that expressed her character in a unique way and wasn’t a typical, cookie cutter makeup logo. After discussing her goals and requirements, we decided that a more extensive visual identity would serve her more in the long run. On top of the logo, fonts and colours would allow Meg to develop a consistent brand identity. Consistent brand application would aid in building brand trust and recognition.

SOLUTION:

After learning the ins and out of Megs brand values, a visual mood board was developed in order to lock down the style. A mood board exercise is an essential step at the beginning of a brand identity project. It serves as a guide that I can refer back to in order to make sure the branding is heading in the right direction.

After hundreds of initial concept sketches, we narrowed down to one final design. The final concept was then refined, perfecting every curve and detail. The final logo was further developed in to a suite of responsive logo marks which would allow Meg to apply her brand to any given space.

Following the logo, we honed in on the perfect brand font and colour palette, referring back to the brand values and style guide to ensure they were in-sync. Once the brand identity was approved and finalised, I developed a guideline book to ensure proper brand application on all future collateral.
